How to interpret the result

The calculator values the capacity that could be released if repetitive work is reduced. That value only becomes a genuine return when the recovered time is used productively—for customer service, sales, delivery, quality control or avoiding additional hiring.

Use a conservative recovery percentage

Automation rarely removes every minute. Exceptions, judgement, quality checks and customer conversations may need to remain human. A cautious estimate creates a stronger decision than an inflated headline.

Compare value with the full cost of change

A realistic business case includes discovery, process redesign, software, implementation, testing, training, maintenance and ownership. Read our UK automation cost guide before comparing options.

A good result is not simply “fewer hours”.

Look for faster response, fewer errors, better visibility, more consistent customer experience and reduced dependency on individual memory.
